Photographing my children has been a passion of mine for so many reasons and we love to look back through moments captured to recount memories together. I want my kids to remember magical childhoods and recount them to their children. Hopefully they forget all of the less than stellar parts, or at least learn from them and look on them as something they grew from (here's praying).

I have captured all of the images in this post since my family's move back to Seward, Nebraska in December 2019. COVID gave us a loooooooooooooooooooooooot of together time and I practiced my artsy and documentary photography skills, documenting such a strange phase of life on this earth. That being said, there were so many exciting moments where I found a new pocket of light and ran to grab my camera - at home and around town. I want to share this experience with others, so I came up with a very Kat idea...

Midwest weather can be so dramatic and confused; every time I have offered mini sessions in the past, the weather decides to make being outdoors iffy. So the idea is that you book a Spontaneous session, are added to a private Facebook group, and when the stars have aligned (weather and lighting), I post an available session on the private Facebook group page, as well as send a text to notify you of the availability. Squirrel Moment Time: You will have between one and two hours notice. You don't need a special outfit or anything like that; we are just documenting childhood with pretty light. The first person to respond will get the session (if there is time for more, I'll include that in the first message and take the second person to respond). That's it!

I have limited available Spontaneous Summer Mini Session spots in the months of July and August. These sessions can take place in your living room, your kitchen, your backyard, your favorite Seward park, on a sidewalk...the options are endless. I can work with full sun if that's your love or if you have really awesome window light, let's go there. But my absolute love is sunset light.

What I'm Offering

Steps to Follow:
  1. Submit a Contact Form and select 'Spontaneous Summer Session' as your session type.
  2. You will receive a digital Booking Agreement (sign from the comfort of your home) and a digital invoice (pay from same comfort) via email.
  3. Once Step 2 is complete, I will add you to a private Facebook group. What is this for? It is where I will spontaneously post that the midwest weather is agreeable, the light is amazing, and I am ready to meet one client group for a 20 minute mini session (single child or sibling group; not meant for family photos) within 10 minutes of Seward's city limits.
  4. Your Booking Fee includes a 20 minute mini session and ONE (1) digital image. You will have access to a private viewing gallery within one week, with 10-20 hand-edited images and may choose to purchase prints or additional digital images directly from your gallery. The gallery is able to be shared via email with other family members if you so choose but expires within one week.

One cool fall evening in Seward...
